Jeff Bolton, morning Talk Show Radio Host on KLIF in Dallas, TX along with Gary Sinise(CSI New York) will be making a trip to Iraq in 10 days to deliver school supplies to Iraqi Children. Jeff Bolton is going to embed with the 1st Calvary Unit out of Ft. Hood Texas. He is asking for cards of Thank You, to be given to our troops from Texas. Handwritten, typed, cards made by children are all welcome. It was suggested to get your child’s teacher to have the class make cards. You can even include a picture of you and your family with your Thanks. We must have these cards no later than Tuesday, April 7th. We will be delivering them to the radio station so that they can be put on the plane with Jeff Bolton to be delivered to our troops.
The more cards the better. They will be meeting and greeting troops in Iraq and they will hand deliver these cards.
Need these cards to me no later than Tuesday, April 10, 2009. You can send directly to me or directly to the radio station. 2 Soldiers' Angels in the area are going to be hand delivering letters we are collecting at work and around the area.
Please contact me for the address if you want me to deliver the cards.
Please include your card in an envelope that says Thanks and then put in envelope to me. As many as you can make, have your children make get the word out to frieds and family.

SA and Brothers at War
Soldiers’ Angels is partnering with the acclaimed new documentary Brothers at War to help tell the stories of America's warfighters and their families. Directed by civilian Jake Rademacher, who followed his two military brothers to document their combat deployment and return home, the documentary is an intimate portrait of a military family during wartime. It is currently screening in a number of cities across America, and Soldiers’ Angels volunteers will be in attendance at each screening location to invite viewers to bridge the military-civilian divide by actively supporting service members and families like those portrayed in the documentary! If you would like to participate, please scroll down for more information.
As Patti points out, this a great opportunity to connect average Americans with those who protect us. “Fewer people serving in the military means fewer Americans have personal knowledge of the sacrifices and challenges of military life,” she says. “Brothers at War helps bridge that divide. The story of these heroes needs to be told, and our soldiers need to know their service is appreciated and that they are not forgotten.”
A winner at the 2008 GI Film Festival, Brothers at War has been receiving rave reviews from military supporters, veterans and military families. Angel and military spouse Greta had a chance to preview the film and was very impressed. "No other footage since Bad Voodoo's War has portrayed anything so real and unbiased about the war and the soldiers who serve in it," she wrote.
Soldiers’ Angels encourages all Angels to spread the word about this tremendous documentary across the country and to attend a screening near their homes.

Texas Angels Make A Difference For Fallen Soldiers' Family

Our school went to the family of SGT. Joshua Ward today. We sang patriotic songs and presented the family with cards and letters. I did talk to the mom and let her know I was with Soldier's Angels---I stuck my SA pin into the card I gave her. I also told her I was the one that requested the cards. She was overwhelmed with the hundreds of cards she had received. I wanted to personally thank all of the Texas Angels who sent cards to this family in Needville, TX when they lost their son in Mosul Iraq.

Make A Banner to Support The Troops
This is something everyone can participate in! It would be great as a group activity for any age! To see pictures of banners and the event from previous years click here.
Once again, Soldiers’ Angels is joining World T.E.A.M. Sports for the Face of America bicycle ride honoring military service members wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. And once again, your help is needed to celebrate the event!
The World T.E.A.M. website explains, "This ride will honor them by actively using sports to help integrate these recently severely injured servicemen and women back into society. We want thank these young men and women for their service and also let them know that they can still be active members of the TEAM." So as with last year, we'd love to have tons of banners to hang in support of the riders--both wounded and non-wounded, signs of gratitude, celebration and appreciation. Banners can be all sizes--from t-shirts to pillow cases, to twin flat sheets (scroll down to see some samples). Banners need to be received by April 22; please email LRoncin@soldiersangels.org for the banner shipping address. After the ride, each rider will choose a banner to take home with them, and any banners left are sent to combat support hospitals in the war zones, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, and other medical facilities.
This year the event will be held on April 25 and 26. Participants will include active-duty military personnel, civilians, and the wounded warriors themselves. The ride will cover 110 miles from Bethesda, MD to Gettysburg, PA, with the wounded riding bicycles especially adapted to their injuries. Over 200 people participated last year, and more are expected this year.
